The Ark Helmet | Reveal

Concussions are a hot-button issue right now in the world of football. Athletes are getting bigger, stronger and faster; which is increasing the rate of concussions at all levels of play.

The Ark Helmet technology is designed to curve the rate of concussions and help make players that are just starting out all the way to the pros be safer on the field.

Instead of tradition foam padding or standard shell with interior cushion – The Ark Helmet takes a new innovative design to impact adsorption.

The modular exterior shell itself is designed to move on impact which disperses the energy over a large area of the shell, therefore, minimizing the amount of force that is distributed to the head. Simply put – less impact to the head equal less injury. Tests after tests continue to illustrate this innovative technology and how it can help keep players on the field safe.

We were brought onto the project with the goal of creating a series of short fast-paced “teaser” like videos that were designed for the launch of the product. This variety of videos were used in a specific order for pre-launch, launch and post launch to build excitement about the technology.

They used the videos for social media, website, PR and an array of online marketing to get viewers excited about this innovative design and approach to helmet impact absorption technology.

Do you want to show off some really cool features, illustrate information or just need an extra polish to your video? If you answered yes to one or all of those, then an animation video may be ideal for you. An animation video can come in many different forms ranging from everything being animation, or parts of content animated or even content that is modeled three-dimensionally.

Full animation video:

A fully animated video or often called an “explainer” video is specifically designed to educate the audience on the product or service. The key to making these videos great is 3-fold: One you have to start with a great script, the script should engage, educate and walk the viewer through the journey of the product and content. Second is having great visuals – ideally, you want to create original graphical content that is unique to your brand and design language. If that’s outside the budget, then using stock illustrations and animated those is a good alternative. Last is an animation – some things may seem very simple but they can be quite complex, the goal here is to create a balance of high-quality animation while staying within the confines of the budget.

Infographic animation:

The Infographic animation is where we make your data come alive. In this style of video, we’re incorporating all of your data from your visual infographics and animating the content in a way that will help provide a more enhanced visual look. We’ll carefully analyze your content, re-built it in our software and animate various elements that help illustrate the data. This can be used as a long single video or separate small videos for specific content or to be used via social media.

Integrated animation:

The integrated animation is where we’re using a combination of filmed visuals and integrating animation with the content to better enhance the look and feel. This could layer on top of the video itself or be used a separate animation that enhances the overall look while providing more visual education for the viewer. For instance, when working with tech companies we often use animation to further illustrate the way the software works.

Whether you’re creating a full animation video, using it for infographics or simply integrating it into your design  – animation is an excellent way to enhance the look of your video and educate your viewer. Depending on the type of animation video you do will dictate the best way to market your video for success. If it’s a primary full animation video for your business or specifically focuses on a service then you’ll want to have the videos your home page and service pages. Make sure to post your animation videos on your social platforms as well through your email marketing.

Why do I need an animation video?

If you have a smaller budget, doing a full-day film production can sometimes be out of reach. In that case, often times an animation video can be a little less expensive and allows you to effectively educate your customer on your content. If you have a video with existing film visuals, then adding animation can give it an extra professional polish and help reinforce the information.

How do I market my Animation video?

Depending on the style of animation video will dictate how you market your video. If you’re doing an animated Business Promo Video, then you’ll want to have it above the fold on the home page. If it’s a service specific video with animation, then below the fold on the home page or on the specific service page are ideal spots for your video. But don’t stop at your website, make sure to upload your video to YouTube, post on social media and use throughout your email marketing.

How long is an animation video?

Animation videos can range in length depending the topic or specific type of video. Business promo videos and services videos that can be full animation videos or have integrated animation video range from sixty seconds to four minutes in length. If you’re using animation for your FAQ videos these can be forty five seconds to two minutes in length.

Creating a great video is only one side of the success coin. The other and equally important part is marketing the video online to maximize the amount of exposure to your target audience and leverage it with everything you’re doing online. Below are a few different video marketing strategies we recommend to all of our clients:

Website:
As you primary Business Promo Video, this should be clearly displayed on your homepage above the fold so it is clearly visible to viewers. There are layout iterations you can test based on your market and the overall design of your website, however, by in large you want to make sure the video has a clear hierarchy of importance on your site.

As an alternative design to having the video on your homepage, you can have a “Video Background” which is a looping video that plays in the background of your site. Then you simply have a button that says “Watch Video” in which a video player would pop-up and enable the viewer to watch your video.

About Us Page:
A lot of visitors want to know about you and your business, so naturally, the about us page is where they are going check out. Having your main business promo video placed on the top of the page creates a clear hierarchy of importance and will help increase the number of views, which in-turn aids to connecting with your audience on a deeper level.

Side Bar of Website:
Customers are coming to your site other than a Google Search or typing it indirectly. They could land on a service page, blog post or other areas of your site other than your homepage. In that case, that’s why you want to make sure that you have your video or series of videos shown on the sidebar or footer of your website.

These wayss, viewers are able to get an array of opportunities to watch your video and get to know what makes you unquietly different an why they should work with you specifically.

Facebook:
Video on Facebook gets more shares, likes and comments. So, make sure to post your videos on social regularly and have it as a essential piece of content on your page. You can have a separate video on the header of your Facebook page, schedule regular posts of your videos, and ask questions to create a dialog.

You can even create Facebook specific formatting and make the video square in size making it taller than a traditional widescreen video player – giving you space on the top and bottom for content. Here, you can add your logo to the top and the bottom provide and offer, ask a question, or run a special promotion.

LinkedIN:
Did you know that you can add video to your profile? But not just your profile, everyone on your team can also have your videos on their page. So, as you and your team are connecting with other people and they are viewing your profile they’ll have exposure to your video and get to learn more about your business, what makes you different and how you help your customers.

Email Marketing:
Do you send out emails to a list of customers? What about email reminders or educational based content? Regardless of what it may be, putting the word [VIDEO] will help increase your open rate and having an animate gif or video image can help in open rates.

So when you’re promoting a new product or service, guiding the customer through some FAQs or educating on the process, make sure to integrate your video content with your email marketing.

YouTube:
Having you video on YouTube is one of the first steps in getting your videos on your site and other parts of the web. Ideally, you’ll want to have an array of videos so you can start to build a library of content both educational and informational about your business.

In that case, you’ll want to create a YouTube branded channel. This way the account is tied to the owner or founder but the login is separate from their personal Google content, which allow administrators to help in the uploading and optimization process.
